Now dust off those pencils and think back to your
childhood memories of fresh baking and the glitters of the coming day. Remember
when you wasn’ a youngster and asked for a pony or new saddle you been eyen’ or
maybe the favorite Roy Rogers Pistol and holster set.
What are yea all waiting for write, write like the wind
before this magical times leaves again for another year. Use them pencils like
six shooters writing out words faster than a six guns bullets. While sugar plums
are dancin’ remember that favorite dog Rex or Max you received with that big red
bow Christmas Day. Remember all the folks all have kind words instead of the
grumpy stuff shirts they are the rest of the year. Children with huge smiles
and eyes a glowin waitin for that fat man in a red suit to slide down the
chimney and deliver that special toy they have been being super good for.
I know as I am writing this article so many things are
running through this cob webbed mind of this here Old Cowboy for certain. I
remember going to my Grandma’s house every year for years and traveling through
all kinds of weather. We did have cars and trucks we did not have to go miles
and miles on horse back like we like to have our kids believe. “Remember To
Ring” a bell Ifn you can I have volunteered for a couple of days for the
Salvation Army for food and help for trough’s that do not have.
Now I am not pushin religion only help for those who do
not have. Plus you can get some great material for your writtin’. I’ll tell
yea I have already had about a book full.
Speaking
of which, church bells and mangers and the
meaning of Christmas has popped up everywhere since November so the town is a
sparkle. Do not let us forget what it is really about though and bow our heads
once and a while.
Save those Christmas cards can’t tell either the picture
or verse may inspire a poem out of yea. Please though do not copy the material
unless you get permission from the hard workin person who wrote it or took the
Photo. Just save for inspiration
I know Robert and RJ are
working their fingers to the bone trying to get you the top articles and
entertainment on the web. Speaking of I will be hosting to speak a new site
through Wild West Performers but it will be at
www.cowboytrails.org and it will be a site for all you
Cowboy Poets or wanna bee’s. Yea all can come and ifn you’re a cowboy poet air
some of your wares or talk about how to get your material published and help of
any kind from cowboy poets. We are hoping to get the best and the newest artist
to come and just like leanin’ over the fence and talk to yea all like friends
and family. Yep a family of cowboy poets.
Remember as we covered
in past articles to get that pad and pencil and keep it with yea forn your gonna
get some great Ideas out of the blue. Write them down even ifn you think they
are not great. You be surprised how many of a great poems come from what a poet
though wasn a reject and threw it in just to fill his or her book.
Well remember to join me
at the Cowboy Poet site listed above ifn just to stop in and say howdy. For all
you poets lets get on and help some of the youngsters in the poetry line. We
all have been at a place where we gave up because we could not find any wrangler
to kinda point us in the right direction. Also ifn you be so kind to pass the
link on to all your outfit and friends and hands I would be tickled to death.
Like I said I am so
tickled about the new site I could jump and spit at the same time. Wild West
Performers has given us Barn Yard Poets a place to rest spin some yarns and to
boot help those who are a needin’ it bad. What is also great those of yea need
a publisher Wild West Performers can do that for yea also along with CD great
prices for us a might on the stingy side.
You will also be able to
get the link on my site
www.cowboychronicles.com also in case you’re a might
forgetful.
Well I have to get this
off to my Pard RJ who keeps all of us lookin great.
Once again. Have The
Greatest Happyest, Brightest, Rip Snortin Rip It Up(safely) Christmas.iWell that’s about it for this month
except make sure you read Robert’s article along with RJ’s and the whole group.
You’re sure to pick up a lot of wisdom as you know us cowboys & cowgirls sure
can use that. Remember a person who does not like horse, has no horsesence and
only half a brain. Now remember us cowboys & cowgirls have the horsesence so we
can put this learnin' on the other half of our brain.
Happy Trails and Hope all your trails
are happy. Remember, life’s short, so as I say “Rip 'er up”. Deadlines are great
for hot days I can always feel the breeze as they pass by. Sorry RJ.
Till Next Time
